The Estate Trentham

house & garden

An original c1902 three bedroom federation house set amongst beautiful gardens in the heart of Trentham just over one hour from Melbourne.

Inspired by Scandanavian interiors, fresh white walls, dark floors and airy rooms, complemented by natural wood furniture, a mix of old and new curated collections from European flea markets, to local country finds.

Our local gardener Tim Pilgrim tends to the garden weekly, ensuring produce for each and every season. The harvest garden has an array of fresh herbs, salad leaves and vegetables for you to hand pick and use during your stay at the house. A mini orchard featuring pears, apples and quinces, is also the perfect setting for long lunches and dinners under the trees. Surrounding the vegetable patch is a mediterranean garden as well as strawberries, blackberries and raspberries to enjoy all summer long.

The house features two bedrooms and an original potato pickers shed, now the 3rd bedroom, a few steps away from the main house, overlooking the herb gardens and mini orchard. Each room is layered with one off collections, textiles, art, old and new hand selected pieces.
